Code Academy (WITU)

Teaching women to code and build successful tech careers.

A specialized coding bootcamp for women, providing comprehensive training in software development with a focus on creating inclusive tech spaces.

Program Overview:

Code Academy (WITU) is a flagship diploma programme delivered through the Women’s Institute of Technology and Innovation (WITI), the academic arm of Women in Technology Uganda. The programme was established to expand access to quality technology education for young women who have completed secondary school but are unable to progress to university due to financial constraints.

Through a fully funded scholarship model, WITU enables these young women to pursue a two-year Diploma in Computer Science and Entrepreneurship, combining technical training with entrepreneurship and practical industry exposure.

What the Programme Offers:

  • A nationally accredited diploma focused on software development, web technologies, and applied computing
  • Entrepreneurship training that equips students to build, manage, and scale technology-enabled businesses
  • Practical, hands-on learning through projects, labs, and guided assignments
  • Exposure to real-world industry practice to prepare graduates for junior-level roles in the tech sector
