Program Overview:
Hi‑Innovator is a national entrepreneurship initiative led by the National Social Security Fund in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. The program strengthens small and growing businesses in Uganda through seed funding, technical assistance, mentorship, market linkages, and follow‑on financing.
The initiative is implemented by Outbox Uganda, working with Entrepreneurship Support Organizations to scale impact and expand access to affordable capital. The shared vision is to create sustainable economic opportunities for youth and young women across Uganda.
To date, the initiative has created or sustained 170,000 dignified jobs, the majority taken up by youth.
What WITU Delivers: Women in Technology Uganda is one of the Entrepreneurship Support Organizations delivering Hi‑Innovator with a strong focus on women‑led enterprises. WITU integrates the initiative into its accelerator programs to strengthen women’s business leadership, financial readiness, and growth potential.
